Henna Belly ArtHennaweb

Sabrina Elliott is now doing henna belly art.

Henna is a paste made from tree leaves and essential oils.

It is piped onto the skin and dries in 20-30 minutes.

After it sits on the skin for 6-8 hours, it stains several layers of skin, leaving an orange design that turns to a dark reddish brown over the next 48 hours.  These tattoos can last as long as 2-3 weeks (depending on their placement, care and intensity of the stain)!  It is safe for pregnancy and children over the age of 5.  (Little ones put their hands in their mouths too much for us to feel comfortable applying it to them.)  They are usually done in the 8th month to bring good fortune to a baby, in Indian cultures.  We do offer Blessingways to make this an ultimate experience with your family and friends!  Just ask us about it.

Sabrina is a Christian, and as such, creates a henna design for you that is custom.  It carries no symbolism of other cultures or religions.  Many traditional patterns from different cultures are used in the designs.  She believes that adorning the body with symbols is something to be taken very seriously, such as the deep meaning that wearing a crucifix, cross, or Icthus (Christian fish) has for a Christian. The design she creates for you is done without religious or cultural meaning, unless you specifically request that she incorporate images of animals, plants, shapes, or words to depict a peaceful, Christian message.  She will not provide henna tattoos for events that may be against her own religious beliefs.  Her goal is to provide a way for anyone interested to express themselves in a fashionable, fun, and inspiring way!

Fees:  $50-75 (depending on size and detail work)
